The term "fatigue" was derived from the state and use of language and after measure or exhaustion. According to this, the fatigue syndrome challenges itself through a persistent feeling of exhaustion and listlessness, which does not go away even after a lot of sleep and rest. The life of those affected will lead through the permanent, extreme weariness. Often this is related to a lack of sleep or laziness. Those affected are taken on with allegations and receive little treatment.. 14 h of sleep no problem .. every occasion to take a quick nap was gratefully taken..
The fatigue syndrome has an insurmountable, feeling sensation of perception and / or exhaustion. Those affected, who feel safe and are less mentally capable than they are self-employed, how often they clean, cook, use the telephone, listen and remember, are often perceived as hardly feasible. Subsequently authorized to change the fatigue patients. Responsible understanding for fatigue is that extreme fatigue and exhaustion cannot be lost even through a lot of sleep - those affected go to sleep and get up on the second morning. The fact that, far beyond the normal level, often requires exhaustion means that those affected withdraw and their own and private ones go further and further.
1. Combating causes
In the first place, of course, is to get to the root of the problem and find out why. Anemia (anemia) , which can also lead to fatigue, can be eliminated by means of transfusions. Having cancer, fatigue can also occur as a side effect of radiation or chemo. elimination is more difficult here, which is why the following additional tips can help.
2. Be honest!
Don´t isolate yourself from your outside world. Try to inform your fellow human beings about your illness, if they really care about you, they will understand when you cancel plans due to tiredness. This has proven itself better over the years than always finding an excuse. I hated lying to my favorite people so this was a huge step for me .
3. Divide forces in everyday life!
Learn to hand in tasks and accept your limits. You don't have to do the whole household alone. Involve your family, children. Learn to hand in tasks and set priorities. Go shopping with your friends or maybe the boy next door can go for a walk with your dog to improve his pocket money.
4. Drink enough!
There was often a connection between my fatigue and a lack of water and electrolytes. Deficits can arise in a flare due to the diarrhea and the lack of absorption of the intestine. Make sure you drink enough, isodrinks or vitamin-enriched drinks can be helpful. I can recommend LaVita juice, it is more expensive, but in my opinion you shouldn't save on your health.
5. Keep in diary!
Keeping a diary with the time of day and the state of tiredness can help to record productive time intervals during the day and to use them in the future, so that complex tasks can be carried out in these time periods.
6. One step at a time!
If you think about the huge amount of work that lies ahead, you almost faint and procastinate. Divide the work into small steps. An example would be the household. Instead of thinking about the mountains of laundry, the dirty floor, etc., imagine a 10 min. Timer and start doing the laundry first. Then treat yourself to a 5 min. Pause and then move on to the next step. Many small steps are psychologically more feasible and not overwhelming.
7. Be patient with yourself!
You can defend yourself against it and deny the fatigue, but in the end you are only more exhausted to the point of burnout. This will only make it harder for yourself and will not do you a favor. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. Even if you only breathed today, you can be proud of what you have already achieved in life despite your limitation. don't compare yourself to others except yourself.
8. Build naps into your everyday life!
For example, I always had a blanket with me at school and used every break to sleep a little. These little naps helped me get through everyday school life.
9. Movement!
Strain instead of sparing: At first, this concept seems rather strange in the case of severe exhaustion.
However, exercise has proven to be an effective remedy for fatigue. Studies show that those who are active feel more efficient and are less exhausted. Cancer patients should therefore clarify with their treating physicians whether physical activity is possible. There is no more precise information about the sport or extent. A short walk in the fresh air never killed somebody.
10. Regulated daily routine!
A regular daily schedule with a steady sleep / wake rhythm helps to maintain a structure. Many people were familiar with this problem before they developed cancer: one had been lying long enough, but still felt that sleep was not restful. A disturbed sleep can trigger or increase fatigue. Staying in bed even longer is not really helpful: too much sleep can also contribute to fatigue, and if there is no other option, the treating doctors can prescribe short-term sleep-inducing medication. In the long run, however, they are a solution for very few people. For some sufferers, relaxation procedures such as "progressive muscle relaxation", autogenic training, yoga, qigong or meditation are relieving. Massages can also help some people, and studies have also examined whether targeted distractions improve the quality of life, such as listening to music, reading, or engaging in a hobby.
